Amendments to the Council Proposal for the Waste Framework Directive (WFD)
We drafted a proposal on the adaptation of certain articles of the Waste Framework Directive which are currently under discussion. The document includes reasoning for our proposals and we remain at stakeholders' disposal for further discussion and clarification.

Recommendation to include reporting obligation for commercial and industrial waste in this revision of the waste directives
We issued a joint recommendation for the monitoring and analysis of the viability of future targets on reuse, recycling and landfilling of commercial and industrial waste, co-signed by local authorities, public service providers, environmental organisations and waste operators.

Open letter to President Juncker on the Circular Economy, signed by 15 Organisations
On 6 March, after the withdrawal and renewed discussion of the Circular Economy Package, Municipal Waste Europe together with 14 organisations sent a letter to the European Commission underlining the importance of the publication of a new proposal within a short timeframe, to enable our European Economy to rebound through the creation of a Cricular Economy.

Press release: Circular Economy Package Withdrawal from the Commission Work Programme 2015
Municipal Waste Europe regrets the Commission’s decision to withdraw the Circular Economy Package from the 2015 Work Package while recognising its commitment to revise and re-table a broader, more ambitious Package within three months.
