Avfall Norge is the Norwegian waste management organisation of approximately 100 Municipal and intermunicipal solid waste organisations. It has approximately 70 associated members and it covers about 95 percent of Norway's municipalities, directly or via an inter-municipal organisation.It is an active supporter and coordinator for the members, and exponent towards media, trade and industry, and central authorities in relevant issues within the solid waste sector. Avfall Norge promotes public interests by stimulating waste reduction efforts, and influence the waste treatment in an environmentally correct and sustainable direction. Avfall Norge has five main targets: competence, influencing power, member orientation, public relations, and international orientation.
