Making Carbon Count: pricing in externalities to drive the Circular Economy

Posted on Monday 25 September 2017

On 11 December 2017, the carbon pricing meeting 'Making Carbon Count: pricing in externalities to drive the Circular Economy' organised jointly by the World Biogas Association (WBA) and the European Economic and Social Committee (EESC) will take place in Brussels.

The questions asked in this meeting are: Could carbon pricing boost the Circular Economy? What mechanisms are needed? Who pays and who benefits? How would financial markets adjust and long-term investments be impacted? What political pressure is needed to enable the cost of externalities to be recognised and used as a driver to greater resouce recovery?

Secretary General of Municipal Waste Europe, Vanya Veras, will be one of the speakers of an illustrious panel of experts who will debate these issues with the audience.
